SUNDAY, December 28, 2008 – Gym Open for Packet Pick-Up and Workouts 5:00-9:00 p.m.

MONDAY, December 29, 2008 – Skin Checks & Weigh-Ins 8:00-9:00 a.m.

Coaches Meeting at 9:20 a.m.; First Session 10:00 a.m. to approximately 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Evening Session 5:30 p.m. to approximately 10:30-11:00 p.m.

TUESDAY, December 30, 2008 – Weigh-Ins 8:00-9:00a.m. Coaches Meeting at 9:20 a.m.

Third Session 10:00 a.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m. Parade of Champions at 5:50 p.m.

FINALS begin at 6:00 p.m.

**Teams are welcome to send in their applications after your conference tournament

with the following distinctions: MOST Northeast Ohio teams will be monitored through the Plain Dealer (Cleveland) or The Beacon Journal (Akron). All other applicants will need to provide a website address or a newspaper name which will carry the results for your Sectional or District so we can fill in the rest of the application. We know Baum’s page will have some results as well so make sure you put this down. This is especially true for Central, Northwest, Southwest, & East/ Southeast region teams. It is hard to access papers with account set-ups, so any help you can give so we can get results, the better!

We will select 38-41 teams for entry into the Medina Invitational – Remember that our tournament is worth 3 points on the Ohio state team points scale. The approximate breakdown of teams by division is as follows: Division I – 9 to 18; Division II – 9 to 14; Division III --- 6 to 9 (this also takes into account that some teams will not bring a full squad). If your team is bringing individuals, you will have to take into the account 3 team points on your schedule.

**TEAM SELECTIONS – The FIRST round of team selections will take place before the State

Tournament once all District Information has been submitted. It is important to get your

application in before State to make this first cut! Most of the tournament field will be set

during the First Round of selections. The SECOND round of selections will occur 1-3 weeks

after the end of the OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament. This allows any out-of-state teams

as well as Ohio teams contacting us at the State tournament to get their information in. We

hope to have all selections done by mid-March to get contracts out to you!

Lynn will be at the Medina Sectional, Massillon Perry District and State Tournaments, so check in with her anytime to check the status of your application. She will likely be working or on press row unless she is down on the floor taking photos. E-mails or personal contact as to your status will come as well as an official letter. Letters will not go out until after the State Tournament so e-mail addresses are key!!

FOR QUICKER RESPONSE, the attached application form will soon be on the M.I.T. website at www.mitwrestling.com, will directly e-mailed to you if you and a paper copy will be in the mail or hand delivered. On the website, the form will be in Microsoft Word. If you do not get an e-mail response back from me in 24 hours, resend or call me at 330-722-6585 (Lynn Houghtaling) right away. You can send application to either of my e-mail addresses. We have had problems of some teams’ information not getting through.

We will only seed from 2008-2009 records only in the event 8 or less wrestlers are submitted for seed nominations for any one weight class [this has happened at 103 in past years].
